The Android 13 update is available for both the 4G LTE and 5G variants of the Galaxy S20 trio. It comes with firmware version G98FXXUFGVJE for the 4G LTE models and G98BXXUFGVJE for the 5G-enabled ones. The package contains the October security patch, which the phones picked up a few weeks back. But we are more interested in the goodies that Android 13 and One UI 5.0 bring to the devices. Samsung touts the new One UI version to be its most refined yet. From minor UI tweaks to improved animations and customizations, there is plenty to look forward to here. So, install the update and start exploring. Like all other software updates, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra users will receive the Android 13 update over the air (OTA). Samsung will roll out the new software package in batches, so not everyone may get it at the same time. You should be notified about it once the update is available. You can also go to the Software update section in your phone’s Settings app and tap on Download and install to check for the update manually. If you’re on a limited mobile data plan, connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the OTA file. Creating a backup of files is a safe practice too.
Samsung will update more Galaxy devices to Android 13 this month
Samsung is just getting started with its Android 13 update. The company is the world’s largest smartphone vendor and possibly launches the most number of devices every year. It has dozens of models awaiting the big Android update, including the past two generations of foldables — the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The firm will likely seed Android 13 to these devices first, followed by the likes of the Galaxy Tab S8. All of them will get the update this month, though. We will let you know when the rollouts begin.
