For those who do not know, Android 12’s design will be based on the Google Material You theme. Under this, there is a feature called Dynamic Themes, which automatically adds a splash of color to your home screen, your browser, and even your keyboard, matching the color of your theme. Notably, the Android 12 stable update release is fast approaching, and the company is introducing new features with beta updates. Now, with a new update, Google has rolled out a new update for the Pixel Live Wallpaper app. It adds support for Dynamic Color. This basically means that the icons of your home screen will now match the color of the live wallpaper that you have selected. Previously, the Pixel Live Wallpaper app suggested only the default blue icons for any live wallpaper that you select. Thankfully, that won’t be the case now, as the icons will match and looking sync with the live wallpaper’s color.
The feature is not perfect, as of now, as some wallpapers only suggest a single color
According to Android Police (via 9to5Google), the new Pixel Live Wallpaper app update is now rolling out high on heels after the newly released fourth beta update. However, the important thing to note here is that the feature is not perfect, for obvious reasons. And by that we mean, there are still some live wallpapers that only suggest a single color for icons. The good thing though, it shows up to 4 icon color options for static wallpapers, which is impressive. We hope that Google will fix this issue, bug, or whatever it is with the release of the Android 12 stable update. So, if you own a Google Pixel device, then you can definitely enjoy this new feature as the update for the Google Pixel Live Wallpapers app is rolling out already. You need to make sure to download the Pixel Live Wallpaper app version 1.6 for this feature to work. One more thing, your device should be running Android 12 in order for the Dynamic Color support to work. So, there is no alternate way of sideloading the new version of the Pixel Wallpaper app and use the feature. If you haven’t received the update, you can download the APK from the trusted third-party source APK Mirror.
