The Pixel 6 Pro screen flicker is barely subtle but noticeable
The screen flickering problem plagues a handful of peoples’ handsets, and it’s prevalent enough to catch Google’s attention. Users are noticing a strange flickering on the display when the power button is pressed. According to a video that one user posted, it’s a quick flash of green that lights up the screen ever so slightly. What’s fortunate is that this issue only happens when the display is powered off. We’ve yet to get any word on this happening while the screen is on.
There’s also a green tint to the display
Along with this minor screen flickering, users are also reporting a green tint to their displays. This issue is a bit different as, while the flicker is unique to the Pixel 6 phones, the green tint has been affecting other Pixels. According to Android Central, there were a few Pixel 5a and Pixel 4XL users who also reported this problem. Since this issue isn’t really widespread, it shouldn’t discourage you from buying a Pixel 6 if you’re considering it.
A fix is coming, but it’s going to be a while
Even though these issues are slight, they caught Google’s attention, and the company stated that it’s issuing an update. The only issue is that Pixel owners are going to need to wait at least a month for it. Google said that the fix is coming with the next security update which will drop in December. There haven’t been any other complaints about the screens on these phones.
