Educators can use these new ChromeOS features for video lessons

The first new feature comes in the form of a new app. It’s called Screencast, and it lets teachers easily record video lessons for students. You’re able to make the video lessons and edit them within the actual app. There, you can trim the videos and add a transcript for kids to read while watching the video. When the videos are complete, they’re uploaded to Google Drive so students will have easy access to them. This is good, as it gives the teacher and the students a unified platform to make and access videos. This app doesn’t only benefit teachers. The student can also use the app to create video presentations. They can be for presenting projects. That way, the teacher can easily view the work that the students have done. The next feature is called moderator mode. This will give teachers more control when they’re casting their screen wirelessly. It gives teachers the ability to turn off any screencasts that cause a problem. This feature isn’t available to the public just yet. Google is going to test it out at a few select schools over the summer. This will give it some good time to test before school starts back again.

On ChromeOS, there’s a gallery app that lets you edit your photos. While there are some useful tools in that app, there could be more. Google is going to test some new flags in ChromeOS that will implement Google Photos into the Gallery app. With that, people will be able to have access to all of the editing tools you find in Google Photos.
