As you might expect, the Watchlist is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a list of movies and TV shows that you want to watch. You can actually easily add movies and TV shows to this list (and remove them). So you have a nice little library of content to watch whenever you sit down to watch TV. Which can be very cool. Here’s how you can use the Watchlist on Android TV to add movies and/or TV shows to watch later on.
How To Add Movies & TV Shows To Your Watchlist on Android TV
To get started, turn on your TV or monitor that has Android TV on. This tutorial is for Android TV and not Google TV, so if you are using the new Chromecast with Google TV, this tutorial is not for you. Next, navigate to the “Discover” tab at the top. It’ll be to the right of the Home tab. Now, you can browse for different movies and TV shows that you might want to watch at some point. Once you find a title you want to add to your watchlist, hold down the “OK” or “Select” button on your remote. Now an “Add to Watchlist” button will appear. Just select that using the same button on your remote. That’s all you need to do, and is a great way to quickly add a bunch of content to your watchlist. But there is another way to do this too.
You can instead select the movie or TV show, instead of holding down the OK button. Then tap on the “Watchlist” button next to the app that the movie or TV show is available on. And that’s it. Now these movies and/or TV shows are available on your Watchlist. The Android TV Watchlist will show up on your home screen, so you can find something quickly to watch when you sit down to eat, or get to the couch after working all day. This Watchlist will also appear on other Android TV devices, so it can be very useful if you use multiple Android TVs in your home.
