We have a separate article that will show you how to tag someone in an Instagram post. That being said, doing this is really not difficult, but the option is not exactly obvious straight away. Down below, you’ll find a step-by-step tutorial on how to tag someone in an Instagram Story, along with belonging images, just so you’re with us 100-percent. That being said, let’s get started.
How to tag someone in an Instagram Story
The first thing you’ll need to do is… open Instagram, of course. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see the ‘Your story’ section in the top-left corner. In order to create a new story, simply tap your profile icon.
In the next menu, you’ll be able to choose an image or a video that you’d like to share in your ‘Story. Alternatively, you can tap the camera icon, and make a new image or video. Whatever you opt for, simply tap on the right thumbnail, and you’ll be thrown into a new menu.
The image you chose will be loaded in the next menu, and all you need to do is tap somewhere on the image.
Your keyboard will load, along with a ton of new options, as you’ve activated the writing dialogue. At this point, simply tap the ‘@Mention’ option above your keyboard.
The ‘@’ icon will appear, and you’ll be able to tag someone. Start typing the handle of the person you’d like to include in your Instagram Story, and Instagram will immediately load them. It will start loading people the moment you start typing, so you’ll simply be able to tap the person you’d like to tag. Once you’re done, tap ‘Done’ in the top-right corner.
In the next menu, you’ll see some additional options, and the right-facing arrow in the bottom-right corner. Tap that arrow to proceed.
A share menu will open at the bottom, and it will ask you to confirm your selections. At this point, simply tap the blue ‘Share’ button. There you go, your Instagram Story is shared with a belonging tag.
