HTC Mobile plans for an expansion, as a return to a key market is in its plans
HTC Mobile is rebuilding its business one step at a time. The company announced some budget phones in Russia and South Africa in the last year or so. The company seems to think it’s time for a return to Korea as well. This information comes from ET News, by the way, as the publication reports HTC Mobile is looking to hire some talent in Korea. The company is looking to recruit a Business Development and Sales manager. That person should help the company assess the market, basically. It should be able to grasp what the demand is, and develop a business strategy based on that, amongst other things. Now, HTC probably won’t be making strides in Korea anytime soon. The company is slowly trying to rebuild its business, and with all the right moves, that will take some time to do. You can’t really expect them to become a hit overnight.
HTC will likely sell budget 4G and / or 5G smartphones in the country
The company will likely offer a couple of budget smartphones in the country. We’re still not sure if those will be 4G or 5G phones, but you can expect them to be extremely affordable. On the flip side, if a Business Development and Sales Manager comes to the conclusion that a market entry is not a good idea for HTC, the company may not launch a phone at all. We’ll have to wait and see what will happen, but HTC seems to be interested. Does that mean the company will return to other markets as well? It all depends on how things go in Korea, and other markets HTC Mobile is active in. If the company’s business takes off, we can expect an expansion to more markets, sure.
