The update changelog is live on the OnePlus forums, detailing some key inclusions. The update is already rolling out to customers in North America and India. But since it’s a phased rollout, it could take a few days to hit all devices. Users can try downloading the update manually via the System updates section under Settings. OnePlus said it is optimizing the fingerprint algorithm to improve fingerprint unlock while also improving power consumption. Audio processing is getting an optimization, too, while OnePlus claims it fixed an “occasional issue” wherein the phone refuses to turn on automatically at a preset time. The front camera is receiving minor improvements as well, along with the usual suite of system and network stability improvements.
The OnePlus 10 Pro only recently made it to global markets
As XDA points out, the update comes with the March 2022 security patch. Meanwhile, some older OnePlus smartphones are already running the April 2022 security update. Samsung, for example, is already sending out the May 2022 security update for the Galaxy S22. So it’s evident that OnePlus still has a lot of catching up to do. The OnePlus 10 Pro made its debut in China this January. However, it took the company until mid-April to bring it to global markets, including the U.S. Despite the delay, the device can still stand out from the heavily crowded high-end smartphone segment.
