In 2018, Lensa was a simple photo editing tool like many similar apps in stores. The app, however, launched a new “Magic Avatars” feature last month that exploded in popularity. Lensa only offers a 7-day free trial, and you have to pay for the subscription. The yearly unlimited access ranges from $14.99 to $49.99. Of course, you should pay $3.99 for 50 images to use the “Magic Avatars” feature.
How to use the Lensa app
First, you need to download and install the app from Play Store or App Store. After opening the app, click the ‘Photos’ tab, and now you should see the ‘Magic Avatars.’ yellow button. It warns you about possible defects and artifacts in images. You should agree to the terms to continue. Then, you should upload 10 to 20 selfies. The good photo examples, according to the app recommendations, are close-ups, selfies, adults, and a variety of backgrounds and facial expressions. Additionally, group shots, full-length images, kids, and covered faces are examples of bad photos. In the next step, you should select your gender and then pay the fees. With a subscription, 50 avatars cost $3.99, 100 pictures cost $5.99, and 200 images cost $7.99. After almost 20 minutes, avatars are ready to download in different styles. Speaking of privacy, some experts believe Lensa might store images in its servers despite saying, “Photos will be immediately deleted from our servers after the Avatars are ready.” The app is also accused of stealing artwork from digital creators.

AI-based tools are exploding in popularity, and the reason is obvious. They offer more advanced features compared to regular tools, and the process is much faster. Just recently, the AI-based chatbot ChatGPT claimed to obsolete Google within the next few years. ChatGPT can even write essays and poems for you based on the given topic.
