Sometimes, you just want to get some quick at-a-glance information about your health. Fitness trackers are good for that as well as dedicated health apps. However, Google is looking to give you another way to get quick insight into your health.
Google will let you view health data from your Fitbit watch on the Nest Hub
How much more “at-a-glance” does it get than a smart display? Right now, you can only view your sleep information when you summon the Assistant via a Nest Hub. However, according to the Google Nest help page, you’ll be able to see some more useful information about your health on your Nest Hub device. With this upcoming update, you’ll also be able to see the number of calories you burned and the number of steps you took. You can see this information on your watch and phone, but having it on the Nest Hub gives you another way to view it. You’ll be able to summon the Google Assistant and ask about your steps and calories. The thing is, you’re not always going to be around your phone, and you’re bound to take off your watch throughout the day. If you’re away from those items, you’ll be able to get your information with a simple “Hey Google” command.
In Other Google/Wearable News: Google Store Redesign Could Make Space For Pixel Watch
The tech world is following a bunch of leaks and rumors regarding the Pixel Watch. The trademark for the name “Pixel Watch” was officially filed, and a bunch of leaks of the device popped up recently. The watch that was supposed to launch alongside the Pixel 6 phones is finally on the way, it seems. Google recently redesigned the Google store, and this redesign could point to that watch coming relatively soon. Before, Fitbit watches had their own dedicated page, as the company doesn’t sell any other smartwatches. However, Fitbit watches are now under a general “Watches” section. This could mean that there will be other categories of watches on the store. The fact that Google might be making preparations for the watch so early could hint at a launch that’s not far away. Rumors point to this watch launching along with the Pixel 6a. If so, then it won’t be a long wait. We don’t know when Google is going to announce these items, but Google I/O is just around the corner. It’s possible that we’ll get some sort of announcement when the event happens. It starts on May 11th, so you’ll need to mark your calendars.
