Netflix actually stopped using the account on June 30, 2022. As you can see from their account, the last tweet was from June 29. It’s unclear why Netflix stopped using Twitter for customer support, since it is such a useful tool, and nearly every company uses it for that purpose. Not to mention, it’s been around for 13 years, with over 207K people following it. Netflix customers will still be able to get in touch with customer support via the phone (depending on the country), or through online chat which is available in the Android and iOS apps and on the website.

This has nothing to do with recent cutbacks

While it might sound accurate, this move reportedly has nothing to do with recent cutbacks. Netflix has been looking to cut some fat, and save some money lately. While they are shedding customers, having lost a little less than a million subscribers in the past quarter. And a little more than a million in 2022 alone. Lately, Netflix has been in the news a lot. For many different reasons too. Netflix is looking to create an ad tier for their service, to help recoup some of the money spent on the many different Originals they have commissioned. They are also looking to crack down on password sharing, which is reportedly costing the company billions per year. As part of these new changes, Netflix is needing to change up some of its licensing agreements with studios, so that they are able to stream these titles with ads – as their current agreements do not allow for ads. It’s a bumpy ride for Netflix, and it’s likely to get even more bumpy.
