The new VR game from Netflix is called Eden Unearthed, and it’s based on the Eden original anime that you can stream through the service. It’s not as complex as the anime. And you don’t get to interact with the cast of characters from the show like you might imagine. You do however get to ride around on a bike in a landscape modeled after the show. Essentially, you’re riding around on a motor bike while the game goes through some of the story. And with that, it seems like a great way to get people invested in the Eden anime series. Should they want to learn more about it.
To play the Netflix VR game you’ll need an Oculus Quest
According to The Streamable, Eden Unearthed is an Oculus Quest game. You should be able to play it on both generations of the headset. As Oculus says it’s compatible with both the Quest and the Quest 2. You can find and download the game from the Oculus App Lab. Also worth noting is that the game seems to have been released earlier this year. But it’s flown under the radar for the most part until now. Eden Unearthed doesn’t cost a thing to download, and it’s completely ad-free. So at the vey least it might be a fun way to pass the time. At most, you’ll enjoy the simple gameplay and then fall in love with the story so much you’ll want to watch the show.
Branching out with a wider gaming library
Earlier this year Netflix announced officially that it was entering the gaming space. While it won’t be offering the ability to stream AAA titles like Stadia, Game Pass, or GeForce NOW, it is going to offer games in some capacity. In addition to Eden Unearthed, it’s also released two mobile games based on Stranger Things. And with Netflix branching out into VR, its gaming push is taking an interesting turn.
