Nothing has finally decided to share some Phone (1) sales numbers
It was revealed that the company managed to sell over 100,000 units of the Phone (1) in just over 20 sale days on Flipkart. He also confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) is currently the best-selling smartphone on Flipkart in the INR 30,000+ ($377+) price segment. It was also mentioned that over 10 million consumers opted to get notified about the phone’s launch on Flipkart. Unfortunately, we still don’t have global sales numbers, nor any information regarding European sales. That’s not all that Mr. Sharma said, though. He added that Nothing will be releasing its fourth major software update in the near future, the Nothing OS 1.1.4. Manu Sharma did not want to give out exact release date predictions, though. He did promise that this update will provide fixes for key issues that users had. Improvements in the camera and battery segments were also promised by Manu Sharma.
The company’s exec was also asked about Android 13
GSM Arena also asked him about the Android 13 update. He emphasized that the company’s priority is providing a good software experience, not expediting new software versions just for the sake of it. Manu Sharma also hinted that Nothing plans to add new device categories into the mix moving forward. That is something that Carl Pei also hinted at before, and even without it, it is to be expected. Nothing is trying to build a strong brand and ecosystem of devices. The fact that Nothing was founded by Carl Pei did help the company and the phone gain popularity. Nothing also hyped up the device via social media quite a bit, and it seems to have worked. We would still love to see global sales numbers, as that would give us a far better idea of how successful the launch was.
