Official Pixel 7 pro 30x Super Res Zoom camera samples are in
As per usual, Google is combining hardware, software, and machine learning to provide you with these results. The Pixel 7 Pro’s telephoto camera actually goes up to 5x zoom, which is why Google needs to use some processing magic for 30x photos. The company actually published those images via Google Photos, and the link is included below the article. We will share some samples via galleries in this article, but do note that those images are a bit compressed. For full res images, you’ll need to visit the link below the article. That being said, in the gallery below, you can check out a Super Res Zoom sample of the One World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York. The first image is taken at 1x, with no zoom, while the last is at 30x zoom. There are six images in the gallery here. Do note that from 20x zoom, Google is using a new machine learning-powered upscaler, that’s where the Tensor G2 really flexes its muscles. After 15x, advanced Zoom Stabilization is in use. The second gallery, the one you can see below, shows us the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. You’ll see five images below, from 1x to 30x zoom, once again.
Do note that the lack of light will affect the performance, of course
Needless to say, these samples actually look great. Super Res Zoom seems to be legit even at 30x, but do note that the quality will deteriorate as the light goes away. There was plenty of light in both of these samples. As a reminder, the Pixel 7 Pro launched quite recently alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch. The Pixel 7 Pro does come with a telephoto camera, unlike the Pixel 7, which enables it to go up to 30x zoom. Pixel 7 Pro Super Res Zoom camera sample (original quality)
