OnePlus 8, 8T & 8 Pro get a taste of OxygenOS 12
Do note that this software is not stable, of course. This is just a beta build, so be warned before you switch. Another thing you should note is that OxygenOS 12 is different from OxygenOS 11. It now resembles ColorOS more than ever. There are quite a few changes that this new software brings. The desktop icons have been changed, while the dark mode now supports three adjustable levels. New style options for Shelf cards have been added as well, in addition to various other Shelf changes. That won’t interest you if you don’t use the OnePlus Shelf, though. Work Life Balance feature is now available, so that you can switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings. There are various options that you can access in regards to this. The OnePlus Gallery has also been upgraded. It now allows you to switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture. It can also crop thumbnails based on the content, and so on.
Canvas AOD has also seen some changes
Canvas AOD brings forth new, diverse styles of lines and colors. All of that results in a more personalized lock screen. The company also added new brushes and strokes, not to mention support for color adjustment. These are only some changes that you’ll find in OxygenOS 12 open beta. Do note that the company will release several more beta builds, before the stable build lands. If you’re using your OnePlus 8, 8T, or 8 Pro as your daily driver, installing this beta build may not be the best idea. That may not be a good idea not only because this is beta software, but because people have been reporting various bugs in the company’s forums. So, you may want to wait for the stable build.
