OPPO patented a dual fold smartphone, but we’re not sure if it will ever launch
This design is actually quite interesting, as OPPO seems to be focusing on versatility, rather than providing a huge phone. This smartphone seems to fold in the same way as the Find N, but it has a second hinge on the right part of the phone. Why? Well, that allows for the rear camera setup to be folded in the other direction. So, that enables you to use the rear camera setup as both your main cameras, and your selfie cameras.
Because of that, this design doesn’t include a display camera hole on the main display. It is possible OPPO removed it altogether from here, as its rear cameras fold in the other direction. On the flip side, it may be using an under-display camera.
There is no punch hole on the main display, but there is on the secondary panel
It still has a display camera hole on the secondary display, though, which confirms a selfie camera on that display. OPPO could have, arguably, removed that camera altogether, though. This phone sure is interesting, though many would probably say unnecessary. Do note that this is just a design patent, though, this does not guarantee OPPO will actually make this smartphone. The OPPO Find N has been praised from a number of directions since it launched, mainly for its design and form factor. OPPO did a great job with the overall size, hinge, and displays. So, seeing a rather odd foldable smartphone design like this one would be interesting. This phone would be even heavier than the Find N, though. As a side note, OPPO also seems to be working on its first clamshell foldable smartphone. That device is supposed to be a direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
