What is Game Dashboard
Since smartphones are more centered around gaming nowadays, a lot of OEMs put a hub or gaming dashboard with tools you can use to enhance your gaming experience. This is the same thing with Google’s Game Dashboard. This is a handy hub that offers gaming optimizations, an FPS counter, and a Do Not Disturb button. The hub also lets you live stream right to YouTube. It’s a great tool to use if you’re a serious Android gamer. This feature was introduced with the Pixel 6 and remained on Pixel devices. However, according to Esper’s Mishaal Rahman, it looks like Game Dashboard is going to come to more Android phones via the Google Play Services. In a tweet, he said that it could come, but he can’t 100% confirm it just yet. In the tweet, he shows the setting app on a Pixel phone, and he showed in the Google Play Services section of the settings. We see the Game Dashboard settings right under the “Find my device” option. There, you’ll be able to access the settings. Since the Google Play Services option is present on most modern Android phones, you should, ostensibly, be able to access the settings on other Android devices.
— Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) July 1, 2022 There’s another tweet shared by Rahman that shows some of the code in Android. The code also points to this feature moving to the Google Play Services section. If you’re looking forward to having Game Dashboard on your non-Pixel device, you’ll have to wait. There’s no telling if this feature will come to other phones. This is code that’s hidden within the software, so you’ll want to take this news with a grain of salt.
