However, if you’d purchased Final Fantasy VII Remake then you were able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game for free. Sony is now awarding those with the PS Plus version of the game the same thing.

PS Plus subscribers can grab Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS5 on Dec. 22

Getting Final Fantasy VII Remake for free, even without the PS5 upgrade, was a steal. But some weren’t happy that they weren’t given the same opportunity to play the PS5 version for free with its undisputedly better visuals. For Square Enix and Sony’s  parts, it makes sense. Those who wanted the PS5 version should probably have to pay for it. But it seems Square Enix and Sony have had a change of heart, because starting on Wednesday December 22, you can upgrade to the PS5 version without having to buy it. You still won’t get Episode Intermission though. That, players will still need to pay for. However, they will be able to save money on it. As in addition to the free PS5 upgrade, players will get a 25% discount on Episode Intermission for a limited amount of time. This is the game’s first DLC and it focuses mostly on Yuffie Kisaragi. It also adds some other additional content to the game that wasn’t in the original base game. And is well worth the playthrough.
