It’s still a wired controller. So you get less freedom than with something like the Xbox Wireless controller that comes with the console. Or the new SCUF Instinct Pro. It is a detachable USB-C cable this time though, so it has better storage. And, there’s method to the madness. Because Razer believes that having the controller be wired will help provide a better experience for competitive play. The controller is compatible with Xbox SeriesX|S, Xbox One, and PC.
The Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma has a few notable improvements
Much of the controller is the same as the model released last year. But there are some upgrades that players will appreciate. For instance, the new Wolverine V2 Chroma comes with customizable thumbsticks. You can easily pop off one set and put on another. Or mix and match both if you prefer to have one of each. There’s a set of shorter sticks for more speed, or a set of taller sticks that are supposed to provide more accuracy. In addition to the customizable thumbsticks, the D-Pad is now circular. So you essentially get 8-directional buttons on the D-Pad instead of the previous 4. Razer also added an additional 4 multi-function buttons. So now you have the two on top as well as the four extra ones that sit near the back of the right and left hand grips. Overall this is basically a newer version of the Wolverine V2 Ultimate. Although the RGB lightning is in a different spot and it doesn’t have the interchangeable D-Pad. Making a return from previous models are the Mecha switches used in the action buttons and D-pad. As well as the Hair Trigger mode with the trigger stop switches for faster actuation. All-in-all, it seems to have a lot going for it that would benefit players who thrive on competition.
