The lawsuit came from a Swiss company known as SQWIN SA. The firm alleges that Samsung Pay infringes on its patent pertaining to the electronic payments system. SQWIN SA seemingly has a patent registered in Russia, with the court citing the patent numbers. Samsung refused to comment on the development, adding that it is appealing the ruling. SQWIN SA’s initial claim was backed by the court on July 27, although it did not provide further information. This new Moscow Arbitration Court ruling specifies the number of Samsung models that are prohibited from selling in the region. However, we still don’t know the names of the devices that could potentially face a ban in the region.
