An official moderator on Samsung’s community forums in South Korea, who is in charge of camera-related stuff, has revealed that the Expert RAW app will leave the beta phase and hit the stable channel on February 25. On the same day, it will also roll out to other devices. The Samsung representative did not explicitly mention which Galaxy models will support the Expert RAW app. However, they suggested the app will be available to most flagship models launched in 2020 or later. So the likes of Galaxy S21 and S21+, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S20 series, and Galaxy Note 20 series should support the new camera app. Mid-range Galaxy A series phones likely won’t support Expert RAW. Perhaps Samsung will evaluate things on a model-by-model basis for all supported devices. So some features may be missing out on certain devices depending on the processor and camera sensor. Samsung’s Expert RAW camera app is coming to more Galaxy smartphones
Expert RAW gives users manual control over various camera settings and parameters for professional-grade photography. Thanks to the features it offered, the app gained huge popularity among Galaxy S21 Ultra users in no time. Following its launch in November last year, Samsung also rolled to two updates to the app in December and January, fixing numerous bugs, introducing new features, and improving its overall stability. However, all this while, Expert Raw was exclusive to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the best smartphone the Korean brand offered until the Galaxy S22 series came along earlier this month. Expectedly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra also gained support for the app. However, the other two Galaxy S22 models still missed out. Samsung is finally preparing to add support for other compatible models. It now remains to be seen whether all Galaxy flagships launched since 2020 will gain the Expert RAW camera app from Samsung. Stay tuned for the official announcement next week.
