The Galaxy A12 is getting Samsung‘s One UI Core 4.1 with Android 12. It is a stripped-down version of the latest iteration of the company’s custom Android software. This update brings a UI redesign with a Color Palette feature that lets you customize the UI elements with unique colors based on your wallpaper. New privacy indicators notify you whenever an app opens the camera or uses the microphone. Enhanced privacy controls let you quickly block access to the camera. Samsung has also added new camera features. For example, video recording begins immediately after touching the record button. Earlier, it began only after you release the finger from the button. There are new editing features as well. New widgets, improved Dark Mode, improved brightness and on-screen volume controls, smoother animations, and enhanced stock Samsung apps are some other highlights of the Android 12-based One UI Core 4.1. The Android 12 update for the Galaxy A12 in Russia is rolling out with firmware version A125FXXU2CVH1. It also bundles the July security patch. That isn’t the latest available but we aren’t complaining as there are enough goodies to talk about.
The Galaxy A03 is also getting the Android 12 update
Along with the Galaxy A12, Samsung today also released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy A03. It’s a newer and more affordable smartphone launched late last year. This phone is also getting One UI Core 4.1 and the July security patch with this update. The rollout has begun in Europe and should gradually expand to all other regions where the device was sold. The new firmware version for the phone is A035FXXU1BFH4, though this may vary according to the market. Debuting with Android 11, the Galaxy A03 will also get the Android 13 update sometime next year. However, the Galaxy A12 ran Android 10 out of the box and will end its life on Android 12. If you’re one of the millions of people holding this handset (sold over 51 million units in 2021), Android 13 will not touch your phone, unfortunately. Nonetheless, the Android 12-based One UI Core 4.1 has a lot of exciting goodies too. Be on the lookout for this update in the coming weeks. You will be notified once the OTA (over the air) package hits your phone. You can also manually check for updates from the Software update section in the Settings app.
