ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Samsung has opened up its Android 13 beta program to a couple more Galaxy smartphones. Users with a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Z Flip 3 can now participate in the beta program in select markets. The company is also beta-testing Android 13 along with its One UI 5 custom software on the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy A52. The Android 13 beta program for the Galaxy Note 20 series is open in the US. Only unlocked models are eligible for it, though. So if you have a carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, you can’t test out the new software early. You’ll have to wait for the official rollout, which should come before the end of this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, meanwhile, is getting Android 13 beta in the UK and South Korea. However, Samsung may also open up the program for users in other markets in the coming days. It is running Android 13 betas in China, India, Germany, and Poland too, though availability varies by device. For example, One UI 5 beta for the Galaxy A52 is only available in India. Nonetheless, if you have any of these Galaxy smartphones and want to participate in Samsung’s Android 13 beta program, you can check eligibility in the Samsung Members app. If the beta update is available in your region, you should see a banner on the app’s home page. Click on the banner and follow the on-screen instructions to register your phone. You should receive the beta update within an hour of registration.
Samsung will roll out the stable Android 13 update this month
Samsung has been beta-testing Android 13-based One UI 5 since August. Over the past couple of months, it has released four beta updates for the Galaxy S22 series, three for Galaxy S21, two for Galaxy A52, and one for Galaxy S20. The Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the latest models to receive Android 13 beta. Meanwhile, Samsung is all set to roll out the stable update later this month. The company has confirmed that the Galaxy S22 series will get the new Android version before the end of October. Others will follow soon. As usual, devices that received public betas should be the first out through the door. But considering Samsung’s recent software update history, we expect most flagship models to make the jump to Android 13 before we enter 2023. We will keep you posted with all those updates, starting with the Galaxy S22 series later this month.
